Shuttle from Saigon to TanAn where we fit our bikes and start our exploration of the second biggest dragon fruits in Vietnam. The highlights of the biking routes are friendly farmers shooting “hello” to you, through a village known for the vermicelli homeland in My Tho and the splendid Vinh Trang pagoda. On arrival at the dock, take a private boat to the Mekong Riverside restaurant for lunch. Then, hop on our support vehicle for Ben Tre in which you will learn more about how locals make the best use of coconut into a variety of products. Afterwards, we ride under a shady path to BaLai and onto BenTre city (if time permits). Overnight in Ben Tre.

Enjoy a beautiful morning boat ride across the mighty Mekong River before our bicycle ride gives you an opportunity to get close to Khmer farmers. Cross peaceful rice paddy fields on concrete paths, pedal through villages with beautiful views of countryside in surroundings. You will have some stops at the home of locals to experience the living of Khmer. You will have your photo taken at Khmer temples and spending time walking to understand the difference between Theravada and Mahayana branches of Buddhism.

In the afternoon, we cycle on the back road through fruit orchards, vegetable fields and cross some small natural creeks with locals on a ferry. These ferries are the daily means of transport in rural areas. Have a short transfer to Can Tho city in the late afternoon and free in the evening!

Anyone who has been to Can Tho and seen a busy floating market and will never forget it! A boat ride will take you to the floating market before your biking starts. We cycle through Phong Dien’ countryside, the area owns many small natural creeks across many villages. After a fruit stop at Phong Dien, we continue to pedal your bike on track by river, enjoy daily activities of local on rivers; grocery boats advertising plastic household goods, cargo boats selling sands for building, small fast boat bring pigs, ducks to local markets and many small ferries taking passengers to further side. We will stop for lunch in the town of Thoi Lai. Then we continue to hit the paths and ride to Co Do and transfer to Long Xuyen for lunch at the Crocodile farm.

In the afternoon, you will cycle deeply into and bicycling on paths along man made canals as you race with local boats, and water taxi, cargo boats and sampan in the Tra Su cajuput forest. If time permits, you will enjoy the great sunset on the Sam Mountain on the western Chau Doc with some amazing pictures. Overnight in Chau Doc City.

Following your breakfast at the hotel, you will have a long transfer to villages of Kampong Thom for a before noon riding. Explore local life on dirt track, through villages, charming temples where you may see the interesting traditional wedding of local people with many stops at with locals and their temples. After lunch, we get on a vehicle and go ahead to Siem Reap to catch the sunset on the Phnom Bakheng hill before you will be free in the evening.

Today we will leave the crowds behind on a cycle ride to the small village of Rolous where we visit the temples, before continuing to a local market. After a rest and time to explore the stalls we take a boat to the floating village of Kompong Phluk. Our ride through rural Cambodia offers plenty of opportunities to once more connect with local people. The fascinating village of Kompong Phluk is built on stilts in Tonle Sap Lake. Its residents live a communal lifestyle and you will see everything from floating pig pens to young children paddling around in what looks like a bowl selling souvenirs and singing songs. After our boat trip we enjoy a home hosted lunch where we can ask questions and learn about local cuisine as well as everyday life. In the afternoon we take our bus to visit Banteay Srey, where we collect our bikes again and cycle 25 kilometers to either East Mebon to enjoy watching the sunset, before either cycling or driving back to Siem Reap. Our total cycling distance today is approximately 37-45 kilometers. Free to arrange your own dinner and explore the Siem Reap nightlife!
